Norhan Abdelgawad
Norhan Abdelgawad is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Public Interest Technology Lab at Virginia Tech. She received her Ph.D. in Planning, Governance, and Globalization from Virginia Tech, where she also earned a graduate certificate in Urban Analytics. Her research focuses on the intersection of art, urban planning and design, environmental psychology, and data analytics. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture Engineering from The American University in Cairo and a Master of Science in Architectural Computation from University College London, where she specialized in data and computational design. Before her academic career, Norhan worked as a Landscape Architect and Urban Designer for six years, contributing to major mega-projects across the Middle East and North Africa region. Complementing her research, her passion for art is reflected in her work as a freelance installation artist.
